Papillion, Neb. — Omaha Storm Chasers Assistant General Manager of Operations Andrea Stava has been honored on Midlands Business Journal’s (MBJ) “40 Under 40” list, as announced at the publication’s award ceremony on Friday morning.

“It is an absolute honor to accept this award,” said Stava. “I would like to thank the Midland Business Journal for their recognition, as well as the entire Storm Chasers organization for their help in making such a difference in the local community.”

“We are extremely happy for Andrea and congratulate her on this outstanding achievement,” said Storm Chasers President and General Manager Martie Cordaro. “She has made a strong impact not just with the Storm Chasers organization, but towards the Omaha metro community, and this is a well-deserved honor for Andrea.”

Stava just completed her tenth season with the Storm Chasers franchise after joining the organization as an intern in 2005. She went on to be hired to the full-time staff in the fall of 2006, and served as a Group Sales Executive until 2010. Stava would then transition to focus on Community Relations, and was named Director of Community Relations in 2012 before being promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2014.

A graduate of Wayne State College, Stava earned a degree in Sports Management, and originally hails from Rising City, Nebraska. Nominations for the “40 Under 40” awards were accepted for individuals who work in Greater Omaha, Sarpy County and Council Bluffs, with selections based on “creative leadership and growth of the organization or department under the nominee’s stewardship”. Cordaro was also a “40 Under 40” award recipient in 2009.

Several other 2015 “40 Under 40” winners were also partners of the Storm Chasers, including Luke Busskohl (Arrow Stage Lines), Alec Gorynski (First National Bank of Omaha), Kristine Hull (Heartland Family Service), Ashly Neneman (Sun Valley Landscaping), and Dr. Geoffrey Talmon (UNMC).
