OMAHA — Four Omaha Metro non-profit organizations have been announced as recipients for the 2016 Chasers Charities “Chasin’ Dreams” Grant Program, including the West Omaha Royals, Gretna Youth Softball/Baseball Association, Springfield Youth Athletic Association and Ralston Girls Softball Association.

A combined total of $4,800 will be going to these four non-profit organizations that operate youth baseball and/or softball programs that are making major renovations. These major renovations will include upgrading essential baseball field components such as new sod, infield, fencing, dugouts, field equipment and baseball equipment.

“Chasers Charities in conjunction with the Omaha Storm Chasers continue to make a huge difference in the community, and we are very happy to award these grants to these organizations,” said Storm Chasers President and General Manager Martie Cordaro. “These grants will allow facility upgrades and provide a safe place for kids to play baseball while growing the game in the Omaha Metro.”

The program was open to any 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organizations or local government units that operate a youth baseball and/or softball program in Sarpy, Douglas, Cass, Washington, Dodge, Lancaster, or Pottawattamie County. Grant approval was determined by the Chasers Charities Board of Directors. Applications are now being accepted for the next cycle of the Chasin’ Dreams Grant Program, with more information available at www.chaserscharities.org.
